White Linen Night

It’s White Linen night again, the Warehouse District’s art walk and fundraiser which has become the biggest annual art event in New Orleans. From 6pm-9pm, the myriad galleries along the 300-800 blocks of Julia Street will be open to the public. There is so much amazing work to see, but I am particularly excited about seeing Bunny Matthews “Nint’wardica,” a 16’x8′ homage to Picasso’s La Guernica, but starring his iconic Vic and Nat’ly characters in the fallout from the BP oil disaster. It’s at the Arthur Roger Gallery. Here’s a little pic:

Along the stroll there will be treats for sale from 5 Fifty 5, Aloha Sushi, Ben and Jerry’s, Bombay Club, Broussard’s, The American Sector, Crepes a la Cart, E&E Catering, Greg Davis Catering LLC, GW Fins, Le Citron Bistro, New Orleans Ice Cream Company, Nirvana, Pinkberry, Sun Ray Grill, Superior Grill, Wolfe’s in the Warehouse, Ye Old Kettle Cooker and more.

Also, there will be four stages along six blocks with local bands, brought to you by The New Orleans Indie Rock Collective.

The Contemporary Arts Center has a show, too, and hosts the official after-party. FREE for CAC members, $10 general admission, with music by the Mod Dance Party DJs & their Mod Dance Squad. More food and drink will be available for purchase.
