Harrison Avenue Marketplace

It seems everyone is in a taking stock frame of mind. It’s been a hundred days since Mitch Landrieu took office; the five year anniversary of Katrina is upon us. So, how are we doing?

Well, if you’re looking for optimistic signs, the Harrison Avenue Marketplace in Lakeview is encouraging. It started three years ago, simply to provide people returning to that neighborhood with basic services. Now, it’s grown to more than 70 vendors, live music, arts and crafts, and of course local food and produce. Today. 5pm-8:30pm. Here.
