The trio of French Quarter festivals happening around the Mint and the French Market continue today. The Louisiana Seafood Festival has all kinds of great food:

Bourbon Orleans-Crawfish Crepes

Bywater Barbecue-Shrimp Remolade Stuffed Tomatoes

Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House-Truffled Seafood Salad

Dunbar’s Creole Cooking-Louisiana Catfish and French Fries

Oceana Restaurant-Crab cakes

Saltwater Grill-Shrimp and Grits

Ninja Restaurant-Shoft Shell Crab and Catfish Po’Boy

That truffled seafood salad is amazing!! As my husband put it, “Truffle oil is the rich man’s MSG.”

Shrimp Peeling Challenge Sunday at the Outback Stage at 1:30 and 3:30 with finals at 4:30 p.m. Grand Prize Winner will recieve two roundtrip Southwest Airline tickets, a stay at Hilton Hotel property and a $100 Outback Gift Certificate. Winner will be able to claim prize after they compete with Australia’s Prawn Peeling Champion at the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in New Orleans on August 7.

As well as cooking demonstrations.

Esplanade Street Stage:

10:45 am – 12:45 pm – Dikki Du & the Zydeco Krewe

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Li’l Malcolm & the House Rockers

3:15 pm – 5:15 pm – Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band

5:30 pm – 7:30 pm – Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience

Barracks Street Stage:

12:15 pm – 2:15 pm – Feaufollet

2:45 pm – 4:45 pm – Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole

5:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys

The Creole Tomato Festival’s mainstage is at Gov. Nichols and the French Market.
