The Boogaloo has three stages, with more than thirty musical acts over the weekend. “The festival features a wide variety of musical genres including New Orleans roots in Blues, Jazz , Funk, Cajun, Zydeco, Latin, Brass, Country, Alternative, Hip Hop and Rock.”
Also, there is a huge art market, featuring local artists.
But, really, my number one priority at a festival is the food. We’re talking fresh-squeezed lemonade, snowballs, soul food, Jamaican food, crepes, sushi, poboys, Middle Eastern food, pizza, and a whole lot more, including alligator sausage sliders–for some reason I am especially excited about those.
Beyond the food, art and music, this festival is really cool because it a “zero waste” event, and it arranges alternative transportation in keeping with its environmentally-conscious theme. And, also, it is free! They want it to keep it that way, too, so, if you can, throw ’em a few bones via the website.
