So Much to C-AC

Today from noon to six the CAC is hosting the eighth annual Alternative Media Expo, presented by event partners Antigravity Magazine, Defend New Orleans, Dirty Coast, the Charitable Film Network, New Orleans Craft Mafia, Crescent City Comics and Gambit. There will be sixty-plus vendors promoting their goods and services, from recycled fashion to comic books to non-profits. There will also be food and drink for sale. The CAC will provide coffee and beer. Lucky You Candy & Concessions will have popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, cupcakes and corndogs. God, I love corndogs. Entrance fee is $5.

Since you’re in the neighborhood, why not see if you can get into one of the showings of Fantastic Mr. Fox happening at the theater at the CAC? This is an interactive, puppet theater version of the Roald Dahl tale (which was recently turned into a movie by Wes Anderson). Audience members literally crawl through the story, which is 13 separate scenes connected by tunnels. The producers recommend casual attire. Saturday showings are at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm. Tickets are not available on-line the day of the show. So call 504.481.5545 or swing by the theater. $15.
