What to Eat at French Quarter Fest

Of course the French Quarter Festival continues today. It is a stunningly, beautiful day, and the quarter is packed with things to listen to and to eat.

Here is a link to the music schedule for today. But, honestly, I go to festivals to eat. It is an all day event, so it is possible to have all three meals. Everything is about $5, and portions are just small enough that you can sample a lot, especially if you have an eating companion. So, out of the many vendors this year, here are the ones I will be seeking out:

Jackson Square:

Strawberry and Hazelnut Chocolate Crepes from Crepes a la Carte.

Slow-roasted Duck Poboy from Jacques-Imo’s

Turtle Soup au Sherry from Court of Two Sisters.

Bloody Mary from Pat O’Brien’s.

Over at the Mint:

Vietnamese Poboy from Amy’s Vietnamese.

Smoked Chaurice Sausage Sandwich and some Bakes Beans from The Joint.

Strawberry Snowball from Plum Street Snowballs.

Woldenberg Park:

Gulf Fish Tacos from GW Fins.

Cochon de Lait Poboy from Love at First Bite.

Chargrilled Oysters from Royal House.

Local Fresh Strawberry Sorbet from Quintin’s Ice Cream.

What are you gonna eat? What did you eat? Let us regale each other with food porn.

I went Friday and had the GW Finns fish tacos(awesome), crawfish pie from somewhere… Oysters Bonne from Antoines, crawfish eggroll from Amy’s, a Pimms cup from Napoleon house and a delicious bloody mary made by Lynn at Green Goddess… Delicious all off it! I totally could have eaten more but ran out of money, so sad…
