Depression Glass and Sushi

Looks like the fun is out in Metairie and Kenner today. Until 4 today, the Crescent City Depression Glass Society is having a show and sale, at the Pontchartrain Center. Depression Glass is very collectible, so you can tell yourself it’s an investment, rather than a splurge.

After that, at 6:30, over at the Jefferson Orleans South, our local PBS station, WYES, is presenting “Global Gourmet Passport: Japan.” There will be a sushi making demonstration, and sake and sushi tastings. It’s $50, but you get dinner and drinks, a class, and get to support public TV.

Alright, since it’s the public television crowd, the presentation probably won’t be this exciting. But, it’ll still be good times.
